Our community needs you.
Our mission is to build a coalition of individuals and families in Fresno County who are committed to making our community a healthier and more equitable place to live. Through authentic relationships, dialogue, and action, we equip and empower residents to be informed and engaged with local, social justice issues.
Learning
Educating ourselves on local issues and learning from others is the first and most important step to getting involved. WCJ will provide approachable, educational opportunities alongside existing local organizations to learn about social justice issues impacting our community. We are honored to learn from those whose work inspires us, and we welcome and encourage our coalition members to develop authentic relationships with people and organizations who are already working to make change in our region.
Uniting
If we really want to make impactful change in our community, we have to work together. Our goal is to build a vast and diverse coalition of individuals and families throughout Fresno County so we can rally together for social justice causes that require support from all corners of our society. We center our work on the marginalized, not because they need our help, but because we know our collective lives and futures are intertwined. WCJ will offer events and opportunities to unite our coalition and lend our collective support for people, policies, and places that are in need.
Advocating
Backed with knowledge and a united voice, the coalition will take action and stand up for social justice causes in our community. It feels good to do the right thing, but sometimes it's hard to know what the next right step is. WCJ will provide approachable, positive opportunities for all ages to show up and advocate alongside the people who are most impacted by the inequities in our community. A healthier and more equitable Fresno is possible, now let’s get to work!
“If you have come here to help me you are wasting your time, but if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.”
